A real College student...

for 5 days that is.

Let's recap:

Wednesday- arrived in Ann Arbor.
-Jes had class from 1-10pm! with some breaks in between; so I went to her Industrial Ecology (hope that's right) class with her; it was a grad class, very interesting. Had stabbing pains so ditched the rest of class & found some tea. During her breaks, we went to this little pizza eatery that used all organic ingredients. I had a artichoke pizza...I think.

Thursday- drove to Detroit!
-At around 4pm Jes, her roomate, Yasaswi, Gabe & I drove down through the snow storm to Detroit for a Storyslam at this Jazz lounge/restaurant. Very nice aesthetics/atmosphere. I ordered a roasted butternut squash dish with pumpkin seeds; Overall the event was great, minus ppl constantly blowing smoke on my face from the table over.

Friday- 5-mile run!
Woke up, ate breakfast & watched GLEE! as our tummy's digested. This was one part of the trip I was most excited about. There was so much snow around I was so scared to trip & break my face. It was fun & I had icicle sweat! I sweat & it was sooo frigid that my sweat turned into an icicle! This was also my first run with my bff in Michigan.

That night we had "power hour" = shot of beer every minute for an hour. I had no clue what that was bc I don't go to a dorming university. It hit me...fast. I wore the Asian flush. After, we went to Soul Club - a veryy fun dance club. Dancing included dances you normally boogey down to in the comforts w/in your own room without criticism. Very fun!

Saturday- 5 mile walk!
Woke up & had a GRAND BREAKFAST! @ Northside Cafe. I had raisin bread & some veggie omelet. It was soo good and super cheap. Then went on a walk around the frozen river covered in a bed of white.

After, went to antique shop & bought a really cute bag for school, a ring & a gold brass bowl I used as a jewelry holder. The bowl was only 7$!!! I loveeedd that antique store called Treasure Mart.

That night, we went to a house party where we bumped into a friend we knew from camp ( we worked together as camp counselors & haven't seen him in years; it was nice to catch up & play beer pong...for the first time! I rocked beer pong.. I'm really good...like for real.
Oh, we also saw The Imaginerium of Doctor Parnassus at the local movie theatre; it was such a cute little theater like one you would see in Gilmore Girl's; The Imaginereum was a very good movie with Heath Ledger, Johnny Depp, Jude Law, Colin Farrel. Great movie!

Sunday- time to head home.
Very chill morning- had eggs & potatoes. Then packed & headed for the airport.

Overall, I felt like a true college student. I drank a lot (for me, a lot is approximately 2 standard servings of alcohol) & ate like a fool. It was great. Papa John's pizza after Soul Club & wine with Pesto french fries for dinner before the house party.
Today, I slept til 4pm.... and made sure my eats were up to par since the past few nights have not been as healthful as I would have liked. So, I started with an egg white on pita with some graham crackers. Then after my 5-mile run, a GREEN MONSTER was of course in order! For dinner, I had a spinach hummus on pita with carrots & snow peas. Sorry for lack of documentation, but I was hungry...
