a)Been living without interweb/cable for 15 WHOLE days (which I ended up semi loving). Instead, I was out and about with friends, knitting, reading, and jury duty!
b)Started my internship at NYCdept of health. I work at a lab where we test beach water of the 5 boroughs. I love the fact that I get to use the techniques I learned in microbio lab in this job. I thought that would never happen! Good thing I paid attention in class eh?
c)Jury duty got in the way of my mandatory orientation & thus I had a schedule conflict! I had been in jury duty M-W (already) & orientation was on Thurs. I, of course, went to the orientation (as opposed to sat around & did nothing) but managed to call jury duty peeps to let them know I was gona be... a bit late.
Everything worked out & I was released from the jury box (i was THIS close to being chosen as there were 19 left from the 40 bunch when i got back to court after orientation!). I am now 5 days of jury duty money richer and the summer internship can officially commence! Hoorah!
d) Here's a little treat: Went to Union Sq. farmer's market thinking I was going to buy raisin walnut bread & was able to do one better: CRANBERRY PECAN BREAD.
