SO! Running Update:
Nike Running Club: It was brutally cold, I wore under armor, fitted purple windbreaker, bright puffy yellow vest, a watermelon hat (green stripes with pink band), and North Face gloves. Joined the 6 mile group with 2 pacers. We started going up 5th, passing the Apple Store, into Central Park . It was ok in the beginning, then I lost my running group when I came to a fork in the road - I took a left & of course, they took a right. I realized I was for sure lost when runners started to seem scarce around the loop. I ran the 5th mile alone & began feeling defeated; then I remembered those who encouraged me and felt a bit better; After the 5th mile, a Nike pacer who was running with the 11-mile group, passed me, obviously recognized my big puffy, hard to miss yellow vest and watermelon hat, yelled 'GOOD JOB', and I got very emotional. A 3/4 mile later, I bumped into another pacer who gave me a high-five, I asked him (Chris) where Niketown was (i was running back to the store) and he offered to accompany me just in case. When I FINALLY returned to the store, a fellow runner exclaimed, "YOU FOUND HER!" - which was rather embarrassing to say the least, then I munched on a banana and some water (complimentary, of course). It was an amazing experience and I found out there are a myriad of hills in Central Park!
Update of Running Update (few days later):
Ran with the Nike Running Club again & this time ran 8 miles (WITH HILLS, more like mountains actually!) It felt great & gave me more confidence:
P.S. I am SO NOT Al Sharpton, Veronica!!!! (I don't even like him!...AT ALL!)
