I guess this weeks posts are unintentionally family week. Yesterday, my cousin Jess came home from Long Island where her and her coworkers scouted for lingerie as field work? Out of the blue, she handed me a pretty blue box tied with wine colored ribbon. "That's a really nice box. Whos' it for?" you." no really, who's it for?" really, its yrs "For me? really?" I guess I really did not expect it bc I could not think of any special occasion (besides being like the best roomie/cousin ever). I was quite excited to open it and see what it could possibly be. And bam! when I opened it, it was a GO THE DISTANCE t-shirt! How flippin' sweet is that?? It was such a motivator.
Then today, after my run, I walk into the lobby of our apartment and was told I had a package. And you know how I absolutely LOVE! receiving packages especially when unanticipated. It's one of those simple little joys in life that never ceases to render a smile even on the seemingly worst of days. Those little gestures make life's obstacles all worthwhile. On with the parcel (sent from cousin, Jen, in Utah); it was the book I lent her - Flowers for Algernon - (great book though a bit glum) & a home made round petri sized box adorned with a delicate feather and a red leaf. I had no idea what it was, it looked like a ribbon holder or something with a tiny piece of red ribbon sticking out one end. It literally took me like the whole way up to my apartment and then some to figure out what I was supposed to do. Though it really was sooo simple when I figured it out, - just pull the ribbon and open! like those little wheels of cheese :) Inside were autumn leaves of Utah that she had crafted into a mini wreath!! She had collected those leaves and they had rode in her pocket from the fields to her home and all the way to NYC!
I have the best family in the world & things would so not be the same without them. LOVE.

How fun!
Thank you again for letting me use the book it was definitely a good read. I guess I forgot to send along a little card that explained things. Sorry! I'm glad you figured it out though. Things are more fun when wrapped in mystery and suspense. :)
Oh and guess how I made that box? An old cheese box! haha
